BUSINESS WRITING REFRESHER

This program will provide a practical refresher on writing effective business correspondence.  Participants will focus on writing documents that convey a tone of professionalism and credibility to the reader.  In the process, they will review fundamental grammar and punctuation rules along with helpful proofreading techniques.

Learning Objectives:  Upon completion of this program, participants will be better able to organize their thoughts; use appropriate grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure; write clear, concise, effective e-mails and correspondence; and proofread accurately.  They will leave with a writing style that projects a more positive and professional image.

TECHNICAL WRITING

The ability to write effective business documents is a critical skill necessary for professional success.  Technical writers have the additional challenge of taking complex terminology and presenting it in language that their audience can understand.  This highly interactive program is designed for those who wish to focus their efforts on improving their writing proficiencies.

Learning Objectives:  During the session, participants will develop awareness of their audience, review the fundamentals of punctuation and grammar, learn how to construct effective documents, achieve clarity and conciseness in their presentation, and proofread accurately.  They will leave with greater understanding about the impact of their written words.

 

E-MAIL ETIQUETTE

A professional image is represented in correspondence from the style of writing through to the content of a message.  Technology has moved communication into the world of electronic mail, known as e-mail.  As a result, it is even more critical today to be able to communicate, clearly, accurately, and concisely through the written word.

Learning Objectives:  Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to use e-mail appropriately, write professional messages, understand the responsibilities associated with this medium, and choose the correct communication approach for the situation.
